8 October 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 8th October [1890]. I remained in bed till lunch time. Richard & the 4 girls went off to Vescovana by 8 o’cl train to stay till Saturday. Lunched at 1.30, & directly after Mr Freddy Leveson Gower arrived & asked me to go with him & help him to choose a chandelier at the Stabto Venezia & Murano so off we went & he brought me home by three oclock & Henry, Mama & I went out in gondola to the Eden’s garden to pay him a visit as we knew he was alone, Mrs Eden & the 2 Hammersley girls having gone to Vescovana. Mr Malcolm had lunched & dined with us all this week & after dinner today he took his departure & returned to his own house.
