22 November 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 22nd [November 1890]. Painted & Sophie sat in studio with us. Rather foggy & very damp. I did not go out. Worked the machine & wrote letters. Read aloud to Henry. Dined at 7. Henry took Sophie & Nela to “Carmen.” Ola & I went to the Brownings to have a guitar & mandoline practise. Mr Browning, Mlle & Mme Stefani & Edith Bronson & I played. Mrs Browning & Miss Broadwood & Mr Moore were audience. Came home at 11—the others after 12. | |
