12 December 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 12th December [1890]. Still fine. Passini came. I painted till 12. Practised with Ola till lunch. Did not go out—the weather changed—became very cold & blew hard. Read aloud from “Mme de Sabran” to Henry, sitting in my room, from 3 to 5. Ct Agostini came to tea & to take leave as he is off to Berlin for a year to study medicine. I made cigarettes for Henry. Mr Malcolm & Mr Dyer dined with us. It was a very boisterous night & cold.
