29 December 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 29th [December 1890]. Girls in bed again with cold & had to keep their rooms altogether. Passini painted. Very cold but bright sunshine. I went with Henry to Riva degli Schiavoni & we walked up & down in the sun– There met the Curtis who walked with us. We walked on to the Ponte delle Ostreghe & met old R. Curtis & his friend Mr Lowell & talked of their projected voyage to Baghdad & Japan. Mr Curtis has not yet settled to go. I wrote a lot of letters before dinner. Henry & I dined alone. | |
