1 January 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 1st January [1891]. I got up to breakfast– Girls went to church. I had a great tidying up of my rooms. Went out with Henry after lunch to see Mr Malcolm who was not well to enquire after various sick people & home early. It was very cold. Sr Ro Cozzi called also M. Hurtado & Idita, Mr Fischer & Olga Montenegro. Quiet evening & early to bed. Mr Curtis & Mr Lowell dined with us. Mr Curtis & Mr Lowell sail for Baghdad tomorrow by P&O. | |
