31 December 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 31st December [1890]. Nela & I resumed our painting of still life after a little criticism & encouragement from Passini who came to work at Henry’s portrait. At 12 I practised guitar & mandola duets with Ola– Went out after lunch with Henry to Piazza & we bought a pin for Mr Woods– We went to see Mr Eden at his house– Home to tea. Mr Woods came to tea & was pleased with his present. José Canevaro also came to tea– The servants had their little party this evening to see in the new year. We dined at 7 & went early to bed. | |
