10 January 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 10th [January 1891]. After a boisterous night– Wind & snow—a finer day, & Henry & Nela were able to get out. I was better. Mr Brown came to call & sat sometime with me in the studio. He told me a great deal about M. Marieton a lively Frenchman who has been here & is a great character & very amusing. Henry & Nela went to see Mr Eden & hear that Carry returns home on Monday. Mr Browning came to tea and to arrange about having a proper apparatus put in the church to warm it & went to Mr Malcolm with Levi’s scheme wh is to cost £100.
