11 January 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 11th [January 1891]. Fine day & less cold. Nela went to church. I had a busy day arranging letters of the past year– Turned over a lot of old letters recd before I married as far back as /67. Trombini called to say he had arranged with Trombini & Dini to play Trios here tomorrow night. Mr Malcolm came to tea & went upstairs & sat with Henry. Henry, Nela & I went out in gondola for an hour & walked in Piazza where the band was playing– It was pretty cold. The snow was being carted away & thrown into the sea– Mr Brown dined with us in the studio & we sat downstairs in the drawing room afterwards. | |
