12 March 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 12th March [1891]. Remained at home & wrote letter in the morning. After lunch I went out in open gondola with Ivor to antiquity shops—Carrer—Zuben & Rietti & then we had to hasten home & dress for at 4.30 people began to arrive for our Trio Concert wh we were obliged to have in the afternoon this time Dini being engaged for every evening. They played the Spirit trio of Beethoven & one of Rubinstein’s No 3– Tirindelli played Goddards Berceuse & Sarasate’s Habanera– They all departed abt 7 & at 7.30 we dined & they went to the Theatre Rossini to hear the Sonnambula all but self & Nela who was too sleepy having returned home at 7 this morning from her ball! | |
