14 March 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 14th [March 1891]. My head was still bad so I remained in bed till lunch & finished M. B’s journal. Towards the end it becomes more bearable & even touching for she is less selfish—but it is a painful book & she must have been an odious girl. I remained in my room all afternoon & practised the guitar. The Duke & Dss della Grazia their son Charles & daughter Marie dined with us—& in the evening we had the mandola band & a few people came to hear it. Pleasant evening. | |
