Monday. 11th [May 1891]. Kate went shopping with Blanche in morng to buy the furniture for the new canonry at Peterboro’. After lunch we drove out together took Henry down to the Atheneum & fetched him again. Kate went home to tea. I went to tea with Lady Alwyne Compton at 39 Dover St, the Episcopal London house of Ely. We dined with the Rates of 9 S. Audley St. Met Mr & Mrs Smith of Dover St & Mr & Mrs Murray Smith & the Bp of Lichfield who is always very pleasant. | |
