27 May 1891 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 27th [May 1891]. I woke with a headache & remained in bed. I was able to read a little in the morning & dozed in the afternoon. Abt 6 Sir Henry Thompson came & had a long medical talk with Henry—to whom he is most kind. He promised to come another day to prescribe for my headaches. Nellie Alderson came to see me– I got up at dinner time & went downstairs. Mama had been in the morning & told Henry that she meant me to have all her old lace & that it was a present from her to me. We looked over the lace together in the evening. Some of it is very good. The boxes on their stands belonged to my grandmother Lady Lindsey & at the bottom of one there are small remnants of ribbons wh had belonged to her. Merthyr came & slept here.
