27 August 1891 — Domodossola
Thursday. 27th August [1891]. Left Domo at 8.15 & had a pleasant drive to Baveno– It was not very hot—& there were a few clouds about. It would not have been so fine a day for the Simplon as yesterday. Reached Hotel Bellevue at 11.30. Lunched at table d’hôte at 12.30. Unpacked. Strung my guitar & tried it. It has a very good tone. Read aloud Dorothy Osborne’s letters to Henry. Dined at 7.30 by ourselves. Halma & Patience in evening.
