8 September 1891 — Milan | |
Tuesday. 8th [September 1891]. I took a cab & went shopping but found everything shut even the Brera so had to return to the hotel. We left Milan by 12.50 train & got a carriage to ourselves. Changed trains at Padua & went to Stanghella to pay Css Pisani a visit. Reached there 7.27 & her carriage met us—& we got there by 8 & got a hearty welcome an excellent dinner & comfortable beds. | |
