26 September 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 26th September [1891]. Got a note early from Mrs Browning asking us to dine with them to meet the Farrars at dinner tonight. As the Belmondos were to have dined with us we put them off to tomorrow & accepted. I was all the morning making stitches on my sampler– After lunch we went out to Mrs Eden’s garden. Met there Mr & Mrs Copeland Perry & Mr R. Curtis. Got a lot of flowers put them up. Wrote to Maria to invite Dacre & Ola to come out to stay with us. Dined with the Brownings; there were Archdeacon Farrar and Revd Farrar, Mr Hodgson, Mme & Mlle Schlesinger besides ourselves—& the Montalbas in evening. | |
