27 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 27th [October 1891]. Splendid weather. Painted all morng while others went out sight seeing. Directly after lunch we all went off to the Lido to inaugurate a new tea basket wh has come from London & of wh Henry made me a present. We went to the Favorita. Henry & I in gondola—going Sir Dom, returning Mr Williams with us. Just as we were leaving home Mr Brown called so we told him to follow us to the Lido & he did so. We had tea on the sea shore & got home by 5.15. Visit from Miss Ffoulkes Jocelyn & Mrs Pemberton. We dined early & all went to the Goldoni theatre to hear Fra Diavolo. Took leave of Mr Williams who leaves early tomorrow. | |
