28 October 1891 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 28th October [1891]. Mr Williams left for Paris by 9 A.M. train. I painted all morning. A high wind got up & it blew so hard that Henry & the girls who went out could not get to the door of the Pension Suisse. I did not go out—wrote letters. We dined at 7.15 & went to the Goldoni Theatre to see “Crispino”– The wind had a little abated & we came back 5 inside & one outside the gondola but it was nervous work– | |
