4 January 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 4th January [1892]. Ola began to read to me in the morning while I worked when Mr Hodgson came & interrupted us & stayed a long time talking about church affairs. Then Mrs Burr came & she remained on to luncheon. At 3 I went out in gondola with Henry to Biraghi’s to see the panel he has carved & has ready to send to Mr Clark for his library at Taly Garn. We got out at the traghetto near the Ca d’oro & walked home from there. Ola went out in sandolo & then went to tea with Mrs Burr. Dr & Mrs Casy came to tea with me & little old Miss More. I read aloud to Henry from 6 to 8. After dinner duetts with Ola– | |
