10 January 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 10th January [1892]. I went to church with Ola in morng. It came on to snow during the service. Copied some guitar music. Went again to church in the afternoon & it suddenly cleared up & the sun came out. I went back home after service to see if Henry would come out. He decided that it was then too late—so Ola & I went to see the Montalba family & found the mother & 4 sisters at home & stayed to tea with them. Afterwards Henrietta & I played a game of Halma against each other. There was a splendid sunset & it was frosty & cold & we hope for fair weather tomorrow. After dinner I played the harmonium. | |
