12 April 1892 — Florence | |
Tuesday. 12th [April 1892]. Walked out to do some shopping. The sun was very hot the wind cold– Olga Mocenigo came to see us—& bid us good bye– We lunched at 1 & left by 2.40 train– A great crowd of people. Met Mr & Mrs Williams going also to Venice & Mr & Mrs Curtis who were returning from their winter’s trip from India. Olga appeared at the station at the last moment to see us off. We got a carriage to ourselves from Bologna to Venice & made our tea very comfortably getting there at 11.40. We found that Sir Henry & Mr Thompson had arrived to stay with us at 6.30—had had dinner & were gone to bed. | |
