26 April 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 26th [April 1892]. I copied for Henry. The weather unsettled. I was to have gone to Lawn tennis with Ida Bel: at the Arsenal by invitation of the Dss of Genoa—just as we were starting it came on to rain heavily. Mme Manello called at 3 bringing with her Mme Charles de Bunsen with her daughter & her cousin Miss Waddington & friend Mlle Stamberg. Mme de Bunsen (sister of the French Ambr now in London) had known Henry in Florence in former years & was anxious to see him again. She is very pleasant chatty & cheerful. She is only at Venice for a few days. We had tea early & afterwards Ida Bel & I went out in gondola to do some shopping. It was wet & unpleasant. We had our music this evening & it went off very well—a good many people came—the Edens, Andrians & Lord & Lady Magheramorne dined with us & remained for part of the music.
