24 June 1892 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 24th [June 1892]. We dined with Mrs Kay. Sir Fred Bramwell took me in to dinner & I had on my left Mr Hawkins a city parson very agreeable. He said his son is a successful novel writer. Sir Fred Bramwell is a scientific man. Has a fine head. But tho’ said to be very agreeable he did not let me find it out but talked the whole time to his other neighbour Mrs Bywater also said to be very clever & is wife of an Oxford Professor. Capt & Mrs (Mellony) A’Court were also dining there & she spoke of her sister Isabel’s engagement to Henry’s nephew Raymond Layard. Lady Gregory came here today.
