6 August 1892 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 6th August [1892]. Ola Du Cane came to breakfast with us & then she & I walked out to choose some curtains for Blanche for Ireland. Mrs Poynter came to see me & sat in my room with me while I packed my bag. Connie also came for a few minutes– Maria later & she sat with us while we eat an early luncheon & Henry & I left by 1.15 train fm Paddington for Llantrisant to stay at Talygarn with Mr Clark. A very full train. We had to change at Bristol & found a lot of excursionists going also. At Cardiff another change & the trains all late so that we got to Talygarn only just in time for 8 o’cl dinner. I had luckily been able to make tea en route but had a bad headache & went to bed soon after dinner. There is no one here with old Mr Clark but his son & daughter in law.
