18 November 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 18th November [1892]. Cini found Stella better when he visited her at 11 & allowed her to get up & sit in my studio. I played the guitar to her & she showed me how to clean the strings of it with Eau de Cologne. I went out in afternoon with Ola in gondola. We landed at the Piazzetta & walked to the Rialto where the gondola met us & took us home. Henry is still suffering from a cold & we all breakfasted in our bedrooms & Henry did not rise until 11 A.M. Had a visit at tea time from M. Reuben & Mr Woods. We have not found a box for Tirindelli’s opera on Saty but Mrs Gardner has offered us a box of hers to share with the Curtis’. Telegram at 9 oclock from Mrs Dyer to say she is safe at Paris.
