1 December 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 1st December [1892]. I practised guitar in morning and copied out Henry’s letters on his youth to Mr E. L. Mitford who had travelled with him in the East. After lunch I went out with Henry to the Piazza & then took Stella to Degani the instrument maker in search of violin strings. Mrs Castle & her daughter came to tea & Baron Haan. The Castles are people who had inhabited Rome & brought us letters from Mme Minghetti. After dinner I played the harmonium.
