3 December 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 3rd [December 1892]. Ola was in bed all day. I practised guitar & copied letters. After lunch I went to the Choir practise in order to play the organ at the service tomorrow. Henry & Stella walked on the Zattere. Belmondo dined with us & Henry, Stella, he & I went to hear Athenaide Tirindelli’s opera wh was given for the last time & the author’s benefit. The stalls were quite empty—many boxes full—& he had a good reception & many presents. He played a solo on the violin after 2nd act after wh we came home & had supper in the kitchen!
