8 December 1892 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 8th December [1892]. Busy morning arranging the lace I am sending on loan to the Great Chicago Exhibition. After lunch we had a visit from Mrs Eden– Henry & I went out in gondola & walking on the Piazzetta met her again & we walked together. I went to see Css Brandolin who is sitting by her little boy who has developed hip desease. Met Css Papadopoli there who told us that Prince Gagarin was ill. I went from there to Mrs Bronson to ask about the lace going to Chicago & found her distressed abt Gagarin so I told her I wd send her the address of a good nurse– I did this on my return home. Stella read to Henry & when she was gone I did ditto. Belmondo dined with us.
