9 February 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 9th February [1893]. Woke about 9 & we breakfasted in our room. I had a horrid headache all day & could hardly keep about or wait on Henry. After lunch wh Ola & I had had laid in my studio Mrs Eden came to see us & had a little talk– Ola went out. I returned to my sofa & got better. Capt. & Mme Scalfi (she née Hullah) came to call on me & I managed to go down to see them. He is in garrison at Verona. I met them at the Palace ball– She is young & interesting looking & very slight. Cini came & said Henry is better but must not get up today. I read to him in the evening. Ola & I dined in the studio together but she was so tired she had to leave the table & go off to bed. | |
