17 July 1893 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Monday. 17th [July 1893]. The first thing this morng I taxed Mould with her state of last night. She did not attempt to deny it & I told her she must leave at once & I went before lunch to see Blanche & to consult her. After lunch I took Mama for a drive & Nela accompanied us. We drove to the house of Mrs Parr a clergyman’s widow who had recommended Mould. I told her what had happened. We had a dinner party at home. Blanche & Edward Ponsonby, Col. & Mrs Heathcote, Mr & Mrs R. Benson, Sir F. Burton, Arthur Layard & music in the evening.
