Wednesday. 13th [September 1893]. I got up after breakfast & found there was a tremendous spate– Read aloud & worked till lunch & afterwards read to Henry– After tea he & I fished the Black Pool wh was in great spate—saw nothing. The river had gone down a bit but was tremendously swollen. Louis & Munro fished the Long Pool & got 0. I got a telegram from Ivor recommending us to remain on a bit & not to leave next week. | |
