25 November 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 25th [November 1893]. Went early to the studio with Nela & Mr Woods came there & gave us ½ hour of instruction. After lunch I went to Mrs Eden’s in sandolo & she took me in her gondola to her garden & picked me some chrysanthemums wh are now nearly over—& also some roses. We got a few banksia roses wh are out of season & a good many china roses. Henry & Pamela came there to meet us & I came home with them & Pamela & I put up the flowers. Nela & Lina went to Malamocco by 2 o’cl steamer with the Hultons & walked back to S. Elizabetta—& got home abt 5.30. Countess Canevaro came to tea & stayed late & tried over duetts with Pamela– The 2 Hellenbach girls also came to call having just returned to Venice for the winter. Played guitar & mandola duetts in evening.
