26 November 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 26th [November 1893]. Henry had such a bad cold that he did not get up till lunch & I did not go to church but remained with him. We lunched at 1 & directly afterwards Pamela, Nela & I went off in the open gondola to the Lido stopping to take up Iduna & her dog en route– It was a lovely day & not very cold. We went to the 4 Fontane & walked along the shore finding our gondola again at S. Elisabetta. Came home & found Henry better. Mr Dyer called. At 5 I went out again to call on the Montalbas. They were out so I returned home to tea. Iduna & Mrs Eden came to dinner & so we were 7 ladies to one man & a very merry party.
