6 December 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 6th [December 1893]. Nela & I went to the studio & had no model so we painted a flower. Afterwards we went to the Edens & there met Biraghi & the stove man Isobella & arranged with Mr Eden the proportions of the new chimney piece we are to make in our middle drawing room & then hurried home to luncheon. Had a visit from Css de Noer widow of P. Fred. of Schleswig Holstein & her 2 daughters—rather pretty intelligent looking girls. I went out in the sandolo & called for Ida at Bss Haans where she had been to luncheon & we went off together to Biraghi’s in the Canareggio & then round outside the town to the Madonna del Arte to call on Css Sormani she was out so we went round again by the lagunes to St Giov. e Paolo to Mrs Hulton—also out & so home. Css Canevaro came to tea & Mme Kwekwitsch. Mr Woods dined with us & was very pleasant & amusing.
