31 December 1893 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 31st December [1893]. I went to church in the morning. In the afternoon Henry & I walked on the Zattere & I took a little green parrot as a present to the Montalbas. I had it from Florence & kept it a while to buy if it was tame & we left it with the Montalbas this afternoon. After tea I wrote letters & so did not read aloud to Henry as usual. | |
