12 January 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 12th January [1894]. I went to the studio. Ola was in bed with a cold. Afternoon I walked with Henry. The gondola was gone to the squero to be scraped so we had to go in the sandolo. We went to the Zattere & after a few turns there we walked by the iron bridge to S. Angelo where the sandolo met us & brought us home. It was bitterly cold & a great deal of snow lying. Last night as we went along the canal there was so much broken ice floating about that it was not easy to get thro’. | |
