20 February 1894 — Leucaspide, nr. Taranto | |
Tuesday. 20th February [1894]. We left Leucaspide & made an early start. Got up at 6 & left at 7. Sir James had not had a good night but sent for us to his room & we saw him in his bed & took our leave of him. Signor Topiccoli kindly saw us off. The Admiral accompanied us & went to his home after leaving us at the station. We went to Salerno by 8.30 train & arrived abt 4. Went to the Hotel d’Angleterre. Had an excellent dinner. Read aloud. | |
