11 April 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 11th April [1894]. Sir Henry Thompson came to see Henry & was very oracular– He said in fact little & by his manner alarmed me much. He however said he would see him again & that he did not consider that there was cause to fear the tumour to be malignant. He came later in the morning & stayed a very short time. Alice Murray & Daisy Du Cane came to luncheon with me– There was a thunderstorm in afternoon but no rain—the air was cooled. I went to see Mama after tea– Nurse Watson came to look after Henry & took up her abode here. When Mr Herring came in the evening to see Henry I asked him what was the reason of Sir H. Thompson’s serious face & told him how he had alarmed me. He said that Sir Henry was not very well & had not meant to frighten me. Ruth & Nela came to see Henry & stayed to dinner with me–
