18 August 1894 — Devonshire House, Weymouth
Saturday. 18th [August 1894]. I was working away writing letters when abt 11 o’cl there came a telegram from my brother Arthur asking me to go to Bere & saying Louis Du Cane was staying there. As I wanted to see Louis I accepted, packed up a bag & went off to Wool station at 2.40 & got there at 3. Nelly met me & drove me to Bere. After tea we went down to the Dr’s hatch & watched Arthur fish. In the eveng Arthur & Louis played Rubicon Besique & Arthur made me learn.
