Mr Carey came to call and arrange abt my sending some tea & cakes to the Sailor’s Institute tonight which Bertha & Ola took after dinner. Ersilia came while Mr Carey was still here & also Genl de Horsey & Mr Montalba. Ersilia stayed till 7. All this upset me & was trying to my courage which is not great.
