1 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 1st November [1894]. A fine day again. I tried to write letters but could not get thro’ them & gave it up– Began to read Henry’s letters to his mother from Persia in 1840. After lunch Ola & I went to the Eden’s garden now lovely with chrysanthemums & Carry gave me a large handful of them to bring home. Count Belmondo came to tea with me– Ola read aloud in evening I played patience. | |
