5 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 5th November 1894. Ola & I at Ca Capello. Busy morning arranging the rooms to be occupied by my sister Blanche & her husband Edward Ponsonby & their eldest girl Olwen. Ola went off to the Eden’s garden to buy some flowers—chrysanthemums being in full bloom. Lunched at 1.30 & then Ola & I went out in gondola to the Fondamenta Nuove & walked up and down for exercise & then walked by S. Zaccaria to the Riva degli Schiavoni where we got into the gondola & came home. Mrs Eden & Miss Parnell who is on a visit to her came to tea with me. Ola went to the station to meet the Ponsonbys & they arrived here at 7 having left England on 1st & slept at Lucerne & then at Milan. Dined at 8 & went early to bed.
