6 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 6th November [1894]. Breakfasted at 9. I had my tea at 7.30 & read before breakfast which is what Henry & I used to do—& I like to do it as long as I can while the weather is fine– We are having splendid weather. I sat in the library all the morng. B & Edward sat with me & then went out with Mr & Mrs E. Tighe cousins of theirs who are at Venice on their honeymoon. After lunch Ola took Blanche & Olwen in sandolo to the Eden’s garden. I & Edward went to Malcolm’s office to see Sr Astolfi & ask various business questions as to whether the duties I have to pay here on this house must be done at once. He told us 6 months was the time allowed. We then went in open gondola to the Eden’s garden to join the others. The Edens were not there but came just at 4 as we were leaving. The Tighes came to tea. I read to Blanche before dinner.
