10 December 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 10th [December 1894]. Lovely day. Ola & I pasted in cuttings of newspapers in the book all the morning. After lunch she went to see Mrs Curtis & I called for her & we went to the Public Gardens to walk. Came in & wrote letters till tea. Iduna came to tea & afterwards Ersilia & Maria Cozzi– A great discussion about English & Italian ways of talking of in society– They think us very hypocritical because we are more careful what we say. | |
