12 March 1895 — Cairo | |
Tuesday. 12th [March 1895]. Breakfasted in our room & made my room our sitting room– We painted till lunch. Lunched at same table as the young men—& went with them afterwards to the Bazaars. Elaine bought some things & I helped Mr Mossop to buy carpets. Got back to the hotel at 5.30. Had tea & sat quiet till dinner at 7.30. Had coffee with the Psses Duleep Sing & their brother Prince Frederick. He showed us a mummy of a baby he had bought at Luxor. Went up to our rooms at 10. I played patience. | |
