22 March 1895 — Cairo | |
Friday. 22nd March [1895]. My cold is worse so I stayed in doors & got up late. Aline was just starting off to lunch with the Churchills when a violent Khamsin wind got up with a dust storm & she was unable to go. Signor Luigi procured for Elaine a charming little poney cart to drive with a seris in costume so she took Aline for a drive. Mr Donald Cameron called & arranged to escort the 2 girls to see the mosque lighted up tonight so we dined at 7 & they went off to meet him & I went to my room. | |
