31 March 1895 — Port Said | |
Sunday. 31st March [1895]. We went on board the Caledonia at 11 & had good single cabins. Found Lady Cromer on board & Lord Egerton of Tatton & the Dss of Buckingham who was still ill & carried in a chair. Sat with Elaine in her cabin till lunch as she was lying down & did not go to lunch in the saloon. I sat at a table with Lady Cromer, Lord Egerton & Lord Dunsamy. Sat on deck, read & dosed till tea when I fetched up Elaine & Lady Cromer joined us. Elaine came to dinner but not Lord C. | |
