21 April 1895 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 21st April [1895]. We all three went to morning service the church was chock full. Elaine & Ola went to the Eden’s garden after lunch. I stayed at home & wrote letter. This spring weather makes me very sad. I think of the time other years I have a bunch of wallflowers on my table—his writing table in his library & it reminds me how this time last year during his illness he liked to have wall flowers brought to him & put by his bedside! Elaine came home soon after tea & we went out in the gondola together for a while. Ola was at evening service.
