27 June 1895 — Devonshire House, Weymouth
Thursday. 27th June [1895]. Still very fine & hot. After lunch I went out sailing on Montys little sailing boat. There was a slight breeze & his man took me up & down in the boy. We talked all the time & he was very intelligent & interesting telling me his experiences in the lifeboat in which he works in the winter when Monty’s yatcht is laid up.
