25 September 1895 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 25th [September 1895]. Augusta Gregory & I went off by 10 train to Peterboro. I wanted to show her the cathedral & to see the altar cloths for which Henry had given some of our old spanish embroideries. We walked from the station to the Precincts. It was a lovely hot day with a very blue sky. It was market day & the square was full of picturesque groups & could quite compete with an Italian Piazza. I had a headache & after we had gone over the cathedral & had lunch with Cecil Alderson & Eda I sat still till abt 4 we had tea & walked to the station & returned to town. Eda & Cecil were only at Peterborough for 3 days for the Church Congress.
