16 November 1895 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 16th November [1895]. Arranged papers in library. Visit from Miss Maxwell—also from Nela. After lunch Eda left & returned home to Lutterworth & at last I am alone in my new home. It seemed so desolate & I feel it worse than ever. I walked out called on Blanche who was not at home—& went to see Maria who was in & I sat with her a bit returned at 4.30 to Blanche & found her. Had tea with her & Olwen & then they brought me home in their brougham on their way to the station as they have gone away on a visit. I dined alone. Played patience in evening. Monty returned to town but I did not see him.
